Covid-19 Update June 2020. As Government Guidelines have loosened, we are delighted to have reopened to attendees on 1st June 2020. Social distancing measures have been put in place to ensure the safety of attendees and staff. We will continue to monitor the situation and act accordingly.
Change of Scene became a registered Charity in July 2008 (No 1124989). It was created to make available a place of tranquility and positive experiences for children who feel they would benefit from a change of scene.
We seek “to make a life-changing difference for a few rather than a marginal difference for many.” This we do by predominantly working one-to-one with each youngster who attends. However, as the years pass by, with 16 young people generally attending each week, the “few” are fast becoming many!
At Change of Scene the children experience nature; care for a wide range of animals & the environment; plant flowers; grow and cook seasonal fruit & vegetables; make jams & chutneys; extract & bottle honey; gather wood; build dens; repair animal houses, fences & hives; maintain a bog garden; discover pond life; identify birds & their song; identify wild animal tracks; participate in night watches for nocturnal creatures; make camp fires; picnics, play non-electronic games – board games, puzzles, quoits, diablo, trampoline, and so much more.
