FoCoS Open Afternoon

The first Open Afternoon for Friends of Change of Scene (FoCoS) will take place on Sunday 24th March 2019 from 2pm to 5pm.

Following on from the success of the inaugural FoCoS meeting in January, the open afternoon will provide an opportunity to find out more about the Charity itself and what YOU can do for Change of Scene’s new fundraising arm.

We are looking for volunteers under six umbrella headings:

  • Fundraisers
  • Craftspeople
  • Membership and Sponsors
  • Site Workers
  • Publicity and Marketing
  • Committee

Come along for a chat and to find out more about

  • how Change of Scene makes a life changing difference  for disadvantaged children and young people
  • what roles we can offer you to  best use your skills and to make you part of our team
  • how,  with your help, we hope to raise funds/reduce costs/otherwise enhance the work of the Charity

If you are interested in joining FoCoS, or just in finding out a little bit more about, please come along at any time between 2pm and 5pm.

For directions or for more information please email: mail@changeofscene.org.uk

It’s Panto Time (oh no it’s not!)

Well, it was back at the end of January 2019, when a local group from Bucks Horn Oak, the Bucks Horn Oak Community Group, put on a rousing version of pantomime favourite, Jack and the Beanstalk.

Our Voluntary Chief Officer, Sue Weaver, was lucky enough to attend the dress rehearsal, along with five attendees, who declared the show to be “Brilliant.”

All proceeds from four sold-out performances are to be donated to Change of Scene.

We would very much like to thank all those involved in the production, particularly Sam Manz, who nominated Change of Scene as beneficiary.

Lower Bourne Social Club – Raising funds for Change of Scene

In 2018, Change of Scene were chosen as the Chairman’s Charity of the Year by members of the Lower Bourne Social Club. A series fundraising activities took place throughout last year – everything from a quiz night to collection boxes on the bar. Club members were generous and raised the magnificent sum of £737.64.

A cheque was presented to our Voluntary Chief Officer, Sue Weaver, by Chairman John Morris and Club Secretary Nigel Tidey at a ceremony which took place recently at the Social Club on Burnt Hill Road, Farnham.

The money will go towards the costs involved in keeping the Charity up and running, helping us to keep providing our service for the young people who attend.

Change of Scene would like to say a big thank you to the members of the Lower Bourne Social Club for all their fundraising efforts.
