Change of Scene saved from closure

Earlier this year, the charity revealed it was facing closure after it had to leave its home in Farnham and launched a campaign to find a new location.​
Wishanger Wellness, a charity focused on the mental health and wellbeing of the local community, responded and offered its site in Frensham. The new facility, located at Tara’s Farm, Reeds Road, Frensham, is expected to open next summer. Planning applications have been submitted for a new hub that will include a sensory room, kitchens and craft room.

Pam Robinson, the CEO of Change of Scene, said: “The perfect setting in the perfect location came along at the perfect time. Parents are thrilled Change of Scene is set to continue with one saying: “When I arrived at the new site, I was immediately struck by how calm and peaceful it is there. The land is in a little valley, surrounded by wooded slopes that give it a lovely sheltered, safe feeling.
“I am so relieved that a new home has finally been found. Change of Scene has been such a life saver for my son, and he has been so anxious that he would lose it all. He can now relax and look forward to more years of safe and nurturing education in what he calls his 'calm place.' Change of Scene has changed his life and has given him the positive hope that he now has for his future.”
Wishanger Wellness was established in 2024 and aims to support people’s physical and mental health through providing opportunities to access open space and harnessing the healing power of the natural environment (ecotherapy). Together with Change of Scene, they will be holding an information event on Saturday 13 September from 10am to 12noon, about their plans for Tara’s Farm to improve people’s lives through agricultural or forestry activities.
